I’ve been in your shoes.

As founder of Character Finance, I've had experience on both sides of the table — in business banking and as the owner of a chocolate import and distribution business with eight staff.

In 2011, just seven years into my banking career, I took the leap from a steady pay cheque to starting my own business.

Through trial, error, and plenty of sleepless nights, I founded and built Heart of Chocolate, selling it for a generous multiple in late 2017.

It's how I explain to non‑business owners what it really feels like to run a business.
